How to configure your Hosting plan in SWPanel with email in Microsoft 365 (Office)
In this manual you will see how to validate your domain ownership in Microsoft 365 and how to configure your hosting service to make use of Microsoft 365 (Office) email.
You will also see how to create an SPF record to protect against phishing and phishing, and thus prevent your messages from being flagged as spam.
Validate your domain in Microsoft 365
Once you have signed up for Microsoft 365, the first step is to validate the ownership of your domain.
To validate your domain ownership, you will need to create a TXT record in your DNS Zone using a unique security token that will be provided to you from the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.

You can find your unique security token in the [Microsoft 365 Admin Center].(https://admin.microsoft.com/) > Show all > Configuration > Domains.

You will be able to create the TXT record to validate your domain ownership through SWPanel by following the steps in the following manual:
You will then need to return to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center > Show all > Configuration > Domains and select Check.
info DNS record changes usually take about 15 minutes to complete, although sometimes it may take longer.
Once Microsoft verifies that the TXT record is correct, your domain ownership will be confirmed.
Configuring Microsoft 365 email MX records
Next, you will need to access the Microsoft 365 Admin Center where you can obtain the MX record to be created in your DNS zone to make use of Microsoft 365 email (Office).
danger If your users use mail accounts with your domain name (e.g. [email protected]), you will need to create their mail accounts manually in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center before configuring MX records so that they can continue to receive email.

danger Once the Microsoft MX record is created, you must delete any other MX records in the DNS Zone.
info It may take 48-72 hours before you start receiving your emails at your new Microsoft 365 email address. In the meantime, you will be able to receive your emails in the email client you have been using until now.
Avoid spoofing and spam by adding Microsoft SPF to your DNS Zone.
Protect yourself against spoofing and phishing, and prevent your messages from being marked as spam. SPF is a mail authentication method that protects against phishing and prevents servers from marking your messages as spam.
It helps identify the servers authorized to send messages on behalf of your domain, preventing your emails from being misinterpreted as spam. Implementing SPF is crucial to protect your domain's reputation and ensure the secure delivery of your emails.
danger Before creating the Microsoft SPF record, you must first remove the current SPF record from the DNS Zone.
