Modification of backups
Definition of backup by hosting Setup of backup by hosting.

Indicate in the upper box of the SWPanel, the name of the server for which you want to manage the backup.

Go to Save and recover my data > Backups > Backup Management (left menu) and click on the Backup Definition tab:
- By default, we will see the backup definition by hosting in which you can check if you want the web copy, mail and database of all your services by clicking on the checkbox of each section. For example, in the following screenshot you can see that we have selected only the web copy and database of our first hosting service, while in the second service, it only makes the mail copy:

Advanced definition by directory

In case you want to add a directory manually, we have the advanced definition per directory:

When you have selected the corresponding directories, click Apply changes.
We recommend leaving the following directories checked:
- /var/www/: Web pages directory.
- /var/var/backupmysql/: Here all your databases are dumped in ".sql" files.
Afterwards, if you want to access the backup management again, you will have to follow the following steps:

Indicate in the upper box of the SWPanel, the name of the server for which you want to manage the backup.

Go to Save and recover my data > Backups > Backup Management (left menu) and click on the Backup Definition tab:
The specified directories will be backed up daily starting at 1:00h.

Activate backup and Configure Backup directories in Clouds without Administration Panel (SWPanel)

From SWPanel, access Active Services Tree (left menu) and click on the name of the corresponding Cloud:

Go to Save and recover my data > Backups > Enable Backup (left menu):
You will be presented with the following options to configure before activating it:

Select the Backup Location.
- You can choose where you want SWPanel to perform the backups, being possible in the datacenters located in Girona/BCN or also in Paris.

Select the retention days for your backup:
- For example, if you select 30 days of retention, you will be able to restore data corresponding to the last 30 days.

You will see the following warning, telling you that you have to install and configure the backup service in your Cloud. It is important that you follow these instructions, otherwise we will not be able to perform the backups:
Once the backups have been activated, you have to indicate which directories are to be backed up:
- Here you can manually enter the paths to be included in the backups. Once you have specified the corresponding directories, click Apply changes:
We recommend leaving the following directories checked:
- /var/www/: Web pages directory.
- /var/var/backupmysql/: Here all your databases are dumped in ".sql" files.
- Once you have entered the directory you have the action section, where you can include or exclude that directory.
Finally, once you have defined the path and the action, you must click on the following icon to add it:
Subsequently, if you want to access the backup management again, you will have to follow the steps below:
